Cardinals too pricey? Please ...
I love baseball. I really love St. Louis Cardinals baseball. It is something our family looks forward to after a long, cold winter.
As we are tuned in to our television this past week, our Mediacom guide clearly read Cardinals vs. Houston on Fox Sports Net. We anticipated a good, long (usually within one run) game between the two rivals.
We enjoyed watching the pregame show and got comfortable in our seats. "We will be right back with the game," explained the announcer. Then, all of a sudden, as if we were being punished, the Cardinals game became "The Best Damn Sports Show, Period" and we were lost. What happened to the game?
What happened is that Mediacom insists that the package Fox Sports Net offered was "too expensive."
Excuse me? Did I hear that right?
How many times has Mediacom raised our cable rates in the last two years?
I might understand if the St. Louis Cardinals were not a great team. Cardinals fans know this is not the case. The Cardinals won the National League Central Division in 2002.
If you are a Cardinals fan and feel the same way, please voice your opinion to Mediacom.

McCaskill best pick for governor
It is time for a change of the guard in Missouri. Claire McCaskill knows the statewide issues and she inspires people to do good things.
As a civic activist, I mailed campaign committee papers to the Missouri Ethics Commission to form Citizens Supporting McCaskill for Governor. I have seen her speak and she really inspires people. As state auditor, she is a real watchdog of the government for the people.
Missouri has lost many jobs in the past few years. We need a new "economic team" and administration. McCaskill will work to bring more jobs and business to the state including higher paying jobs in union labor and high-tech areas and a possible technology park in southwest Missouri. We must grow our economy to solve state budget problems and build a better Missouri for the citizens.
The knowledge of statewide issues, economic growth, the desire to lead and her people skills will propel Claire McCaskill to the governors office.

HOLLYWOOD
Give California to Saddam
Hollywood has proved its unworthiness to be a part of this great country. Michael Moore spewed his hatred for the USA when accepting his Oscar for his anti-Second Amendment film. Then the limousine liberals awarded their highest prize to a convicted pedophile and fugitive from justice.
Here's a suggestion that will solve everything -- Iraq and California are approximately the same size, right?
We declare California an independent country, capture Saddam, make him dictator over this country and let him do to the Hollywood and San Francisco liberals exactly what he's been doing to his own people for the past 25 years. California gets to find out what kind of guy they are supporting with their protests.
Those of us who love this country and cherish each and every Marine, soldier, airman and sailor, get rid of the tie-dye-wearing, peace- sign-waving, ill-informed tree huggers.
Problem solved!
